Reflection on Roll of Thunder Project

Reflection on Roll of Thunder Project
- Come to life: I like the way Darren was mimicking the voice of Cassie, sound of a girl. They could speak louder and clearer next time.

- Who and What: Good clues about the answer so that it is easy to guess the answer. You could ask more and harder questions next time.

- Interview: I think we did a pretty good job. I like the questions pretty much. I could've check my script before I went up, there are a lot of misspelled words... For example: The correct word "for" but I typed into "fort.

- Into the Future: She made up a really good story. T.J. won in the court, I am happy too.

- Who and What: Good questions, you could ask more questions next time.

Presentation

I think our presentation was ok. Frist, I forgot the word "Antelope", which the most important word in this myth and started laughing. Second, Jessie said something wrong. The rule for being the next king of the leopard is to count from one to ten before the sword fell down, but you only need to count to ten, not necessary starting from one. Third, the crown on the last slide should be a sword. Others was ok.
I think Michelle and Alice did the best. They explained the story well and interesting, and the characters with the roles of each character. They fully explained the story and the moral.

What is a winner?

    What is a winner?
In a competition, the person that wins is the winner. The records that referees or judges recorded down are the important proof that you won the competition, to state that the winner does not fake their victory and pretends he or she won.
A winner is also someone that everyone thinks he or she is the best. The person won people's trust. If the person thinks he or she is the best and feeling confidence, that's not enough. A person that wins or succeed because most of the people thinks the same way.
When you win something, you're the winner no matter the thing is a thing that you can actually see, cannot see, or is a trust. You can easily win a thing that you can see, but winning a person trust or things you cannot see is much harder.

Is There A Job You Were Born To Do?

Is There A Job You Were Born To Do?
Some people born to love music, writing, drawing, teaching, etc. Some people found out they have an ability to do those things and wanted to have a job with that ability. Some people don't have their own talented ability, so they don't know what job they should do.
Teachers now might wanted to be a teacher at a very young age and they would go to the school or college for only teachers, so that they can get the job for a teacher after they grow up.
Singers, they are born to have a very great voice that can attract many people. They found out they have those abilities so that they have the idea of having a job of being a singer.
Although, some people might not have a job that they are born to do. Like me, I'm not particularly interested or talented in one thing or job, so I don't know what job I wanted to do in the future.

What Are You Willing To Fight For?

What Are You Willing To Fight For?
Usually people will fight for things that they think are important to them. Families, friends, heroes, and food would be the things that you think are important to you. You would want to fight for them.
Places that don't have enough food will cause a fight for food. Everyone needs food to live and survive. Places that have enough food won't have those kind of problems.
Things that you like would be a thing that you want to fight for. Things that you are not interested in, you might just sit there and watch other people fighting for it, that they think are important.
Everyone has different opinions. Some might think it's important and fight for it as hard as they could, but some people might not like it and don't care about those things.

Do You Think Before You Act?

Do you think before you act?
People (including me of course) sometimes do things without thinking just because it is a spur of the moment.
The consequence of not studying for a test might be failing the test. Think before I act, if I don't mind failing the test, I can choose to not study for the test. If I want to get good grades, I might want to study hard.
There were many killing accidents in the past. Some people who kill others didn't think before they act. Nice people or people you don't expect they'll kill kill others just because of the anger of one moment. After they got caught by the police, they would feel regret of the things they had done.
People don't meen to do bad things, but they just don't think before they act.

Whom Do You Feel Closest To?

Whom do you feel closest to?
At home, I feel closest to my mom. We always talked about something funny and share things about what happened at school. When I'm sad, my mom would comfort me and discuss with me. We're just like good friends. My dad also tell me funny stories when I'm in bed, but he often came home really late because of work, so he don't have much time to have conversations with me.

At school, my classmates are the closest. They are always besides me and makes me laugh. They are just like we're in the same family.

What Is Honor?

What is honor?    To me, people who gave their lives to fight in wars are honorable. They did something for their own country, and their spirit is something we can learn from them.

Some people killed their lives because of some stupid reasons like not being able to get in good colleges and suicides, that's not considered honorable.

Since there less wars now, I think people who don't easily give up and can understand and help other people are honorable. Most of the people on the world have their own things to do, so they can't think for someone else. People have to live peaceful, but people can't. They just think of themselves.

Why Do We Need Memorials?

People have memorials because they want to remind themselves of what they done wrong or they want to remember someone. Memorials wrote down the history.

For example, the Statue of Liberty is a kind of memorials for America.

They represent the fallen during the war between England and America and also they represent the war they won too.

Are All Things Connected?

I believe that all things are connected. A bug with 6 legs and a snowflake has 6 points so that is why I think that al things are connected. Sometimes things are in a coincidence and I think that most times are connected. I think that without a cause then there is no effect so in the end that is why there are no cause and effect.

When you talk about a topic then change into a new one, although the new one seems not same as the first topic, but they share the same big topic.

Reflection On Your 1st Semester

In the first semester, I think I have a big step towards good grades... I can improve more and be much more responsible for doing things... and I didn't really concentrate when I'm writing or reviewing my homework, so the main reason is... I didn't work hard enough!!!
In this semester, I always forget things and do things wrong, then I'll get yelled by my mom. To be responsible and to do things correct is very important and is related to my future and work. If you accidentally miss a thing, you might let your company loose millions of money or even more. Then I'll be fired really fast.
Another thing is I always forgot to turn off my lights after I go out my bedroom and that's a waste of electricity and earth's resource. The habit of not remembering to bring things will cause me a big problem...
I better work hard and be more concentrate on my grades and make improvements. If that method doesn't work well, then change another one! Don't stick on that one and kept on doing it... I wish my new method can work well in the 3rd quarter!

Can Where You Are Change Who You Are?

The people in every places are different. The daily life, thinking, and habits are really different in every places. As you live in that place for a long time, you'll have to try to survive and be similar as the people there, so that you don't feel different from others or been laugh at others.

Your habit and thinking will change over time. Later on, when you go to another place, you will change and become more similar than the people in another place.

My conclusion is "Where you are will change who you are".

What makes a community?

People that cooperates makes up a good community. If the people always fight in the community, some people might move away and the people begin to decrease.

A community is made up of different people who made it possible, like the people who live there. Without them the whole community wouldn't have even started. The leader or the people in charge of the community is also very important, because sometimes they need to make some important decision and take care of some responsibility.

A community also has to have people who are responsible and nice other wise they can't do anything.

What Happens When Friends Compete?

We might feel nervous and have a lot of pressure. In Amigo Brothers, they chose to separate each other. They decided not to meat each other until the competition. You can also choose to compete with your friend before the competition starts, so that you'll know what you can improve and change.
Everyone wants to win, but we don't want to hurt each other. Everyone does the best that they can, without hurting their friendship. One thing that the Amigo Brothers did is that they walked out the ring hand by hand together, just like the way they did before. Compete can't break a friendship. Who won is not important anymore.

What Is The Theme For Amigo Brothers?

The theme for Amigo Brothers is "A competition can't break a friendship".

In Amigo Brothers, the two friends were competing against each other. They don't want to hurt each other, but they both want to win the champion.

At last, after the competition, they walked out the ring hand by hand together before the announcer announced who won. Who ever won doesn't matter to them, they're still "Amigo brothers"!

  Nothing can break their friendship!!!

Who Deserves A Second Chance

1. Thieves2. A child who makes a mistake3. A person who kills someone on purpose

Thieves can deserve a second chance only if they change their way of thinking and apologize for the things that they have done. They have to know that stealing is bad, or else it would be a big problem. They'll think stealing is good and keep stealing.

A child who makes a mistake can always deserve a second chance. Kids are still learning new things from adults or other people, you have to teach them if they do something wrong, so they won't do the same thing next time.

A person who kills someone on purpose never deserves a second chance. One of the reasons why the person who kills someone on purpose is, he hate the victim for some stupid reasons. For example, he is jealous of the victim's success in business. Another reason is because he has played too many video games. He thinks that killing people is okay and the dead people will revive in a minute. He regrets for the things what he has done after he knows the fact that the dead people can't come back, but it's too late to revive the victim. He can never pay for it.

What Stands In The Way Of Your Dreams?

I have a dream, I want to get into a good college. This is a very hard thing though...
To get into a good college, I will have to get good grades every time, bad grades are not accepted, and I will have to learn many other challenging things. For example : Remember the formula of compounds in Chemistry and I'll have to remember the date and year of what happened in world war2 or what happened in History...

Good teachers and supportive family is also very important too. Teachers teach us many knowledge and help us in the things that we don't know, and without a supportive family, I might not succeed.

What has the power to heal?

What has the power to heal?

Physical injuries:

1. Medicine

2. Get enough sleep

3. Aspirin

Emotional pain:

1. You can call someone for help

2. Tell that person

3. Ask your parents for help

Emotional pain is a monster for me. That really feels bad when someone says something bad or impropriate to me. That's not nice! I always call my mom for help. That helps! I feel better. Then I'll tell that person next day that I really don't like that.

If you get a physical injury, you will really need to sleep early, don't play with your computer until midnight... This is very important, too.

For me, I don't need medicine to heal my physical injury, but I really needs medicine to heal my emotional pain!

What makes a crowd a mob?

If there are many people, sometimes everyone have their own opinion. That will cause some trouble. For example, when you are at Taipei 101, and you want to find a good place to watch the firework. You will push the person in front of you. If everyone does this, many people will start to fight and yell at each other, in this case, someone will get hurt.

Another example is "voting". Everyone want to be the president, if everyone is fighting for the only "President", the earth would be in a big mess.

That's why we need police, president, king, or leader in order to avoid something "unfair" to happen.

Why is it important to be sure of your facts before you speak up about something serious

To be sure of your facts makes you have more confidence to speak up. You won't make any mistakes. It is embarrassing that if you make a mistake when you speak up, the audience will laugh at you for telling the wrong information. Especially for something serious. Maybe if you are joking, be sure of your facts was you n't that important. But if you are talking about something serious, and you wasn't sure about your facts, someone will think are just kidding, not talking about something serious.

If you have an important meeting with your boss, and you wasn't very sure of your facts, the boss will think you are an unorganized person. It makes people more organize in their life.

That's why be sure of your facts before you speak up something serious is very important.
